During this tour you will have the opportunity to visit the male Orthodox monastery in Pomorie and see the city center of Burgas. Then you will cruise down the tranquil Ropotamo River. The main attraction will be visiting the ancient city of Sozopol.
Sozopol was founded in 610 BC. It was called Apollonia by the Greeks.
The patron of the city was Apollo - the god of sun, light and health. Today, the city is an important fishing village, a meeting place for painters, poets, writers and artists.
The old town is impressive with its buildings dating back to the 17th / 19th century, a period known as the Bulgarian National Revival. Characteristic for buildings from this period are the stone facades (ground floor), verandas and narrow wooden windows. Narrow cobbled streets usually lead to the coast.
